Postal MailBoxes
August 22, 2009The process for transmitting information and tangible objects, wherein written documents typically enclosed in envelopes and also small packages which are delivered to destinations around the world or anything sent by way of the postal system is called mail or post. And for this purpose, there must be Mailboxes on your residence or commercial place to deliver it to you there.
A number of countries have different colored Mailboxes; in countries such as Portugal, Australia and Russia, the color signifies which type of mailbox is to be used for, such as 1st and 2nd class post. On the other hand, in parts of Sweden and Germany, the different colors are for the different postal services because of postal deregulations.
From this point of view, we can be sure that this mail boxes are indeed important to our homes and in some point, to any companies or buildings where mails are just sent through this boxes. You will have your own key then given by the administrator of the building for your privacy and solitude of mail communication.
The letterbox is a slot, sometimes vertical but usually horizontal, cut through the middle or lower half of a front door in our homes. It must me remarked that this style is almost universal in homes and offices, or sometimes primarily found in older neighborhoods and on the east coast of some countries like the US of A. Most are covered by a flap on the outside for weatherproofing. The flap or flatter may be closed by gravity, or sprung to prevent it opening and closing noisily in the wind which is silly then. Some Mailbox also have a second flap on the inside to offer further protection from the elements. There may also be a small cage or box mounted on the inside of the door to receive the delivered mail.
Below are the mailboxes or letterboxes consisting of four most important designs:
• a box attached directly to the house
• a slot in a wall or door through which mail is delivered
• a box mounted at or near the street
• a centralized unit consisting of many individual mailboxes for an entire building or neighborhood
